Current Priorities
I am currently focusing on my individual artistic practice, with emphasis on painting, collage, and installation, writing and performance. I am returning to making artwork about the personals and sexuality, to topics related to mental health including guardianship, commitment and autonomy, and I am also exploring several projects related to other carceral traditions including those more typically perceived as true crime while hoping to create nothing that is recognizable as that genre.
I am also exploring ways to write about the first amendment, about religious and other freedoms, and about artifical intelligence.
Email (alison@alisonbergblomjohnson.com) is the best way to reach me. If you prefer the phone, you may leave me a message at (651) 356-8230. Please include event details such as dates, times, length (of talk or of writing), audience, goals, why you feel alignment with me, compensation, and anything else that will help me decide if this inquiry is a fit.
Sending a brief email with the above helps me best track and respond to inquiries. This is the best way to approach me.
